Project Fashionology
User experiences as a customized shortcut to maximize its capability
Background
As a fashionable item with the feature of mobile tracker, Charm has been initiated to be a part of new mobile essential devices. It provides location tracking feature only, but company planed to make it improved version as a genuine fashionable accessories so people want to purchase them for fashion purpose.

Since the product has limited space for circuit boards and batteries, we needed to explore innovative solutions, such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Ultra Wideband (UWB), and SmartThings capabilities. Additionally, to align with the fashion trend, the team should collaborate with the company’s fashion manufacturing branch to reposition the product as a popular fashion item.
Role and Achievement
Managed teams across the two company of engineering, industrial design, UX design, fashion planning, advanced technology and material teams for overall collaboration
Put together the strategic pitch to CEO of both company and got positive feedback for CES exhibition. Successfully exhibited to CES 2018.
Deliver the concept prototype with in 8-month of development cycle.
Impact
Amidst the economic downturn induced by the COVID-19 pandemic, the fashion industry faced a significant setback, necessitating the postponement of its project plan. However, the company demonstrated resilience by pivoting its concept and leveraging advanced technology. This transformation resulted in the launch of Galaxy SmartTag in 2021, a product that successfully entered the market.
