New VR Product and Strategy Project

A new VR initiative is underway, featuring next-gen headsets designed for mobile integration and a fresh XR user experience developed alongside platform partners as part of the company’s immersive technology strategy.

Background

To further grow the market in the upcoming years, it is essential to develop a thorough plan for AR/VR following the achievements of the Gear VR series. I have devised a strategy that focuses on introducing hardware and user experience advancements in the VR industry, aiming for a launch within a 5-year timeframe.


Problem: Political Issues with major partner, no references for the standalone headset experience

HW Setup: I suggested a mobile app-based headset structure that wasn't considered.

UX: I suggested a black-and-white Lightsaber-style UX for a serene and dreamy user experience.


Role and Achievement

As a new product concept development PM, I defined the hardware framework, the directed for industrial design, conducted UX research, and created a design and prototype for the main user experience.
